About
When you harass your friend into restarting a business, you're pretty much obligated to become her business partner.
Vers started a few years after Bailey closed Amaga Collective, the original home of our shampoo and conditioner bars. Her friends Izzie, Audra, and Natalie were hanging out one day, complaining about how much they missed them. Izzie decided enough was enough and convinced Bailey to start making them again. Mostly for selfish reasons, if she's being honest. And that's how Vers was born. Turns out, sometimes the best business ideas come from wanting your favourite shampoo back.
Good hair doesn't have to be complicated.
Between our families, we've got hair types ranging from 1A to 4C, and plenty of different routines to go with them. But shampoo and conditioner are the two things we can all share. Our bars cleanse and nourish our hair, giving each of us a great starting point for whatever we want to do with it next. We wanted to keep Vers simple, so we make one shampoo bar and one conditioner bar that we all love using. And because nobody wants to realize they've run out of shampoo halfway through a shower, we offer subscriptions that take one more thing off your to-do list. We make our bars in small batches with thoughtfully-chosen ingredients, from plant-derived cleansers to nourishing butters and oils. We care about what goes into them, how well they work, and how much waste they leave behind. At the end of the day, we're making the same shampoo and conditioner we use in our own homes, and we wouldn't have it any other way. It's still just the two of us, Bailey and Izzie, making the bars, running the business, and laughing a lot along the way. We genuinely love what we do and getting to do it together, and we hope a little of that joy comes through in everything we make.
